The current Asst. Secretary General of OIC, Dr. Sengendo Ahmed (below), is a Ugandan national.
OIC, the largest inter-governmental organization after the United Nations with a membership of 57 states spread over four continents, has been supporting Uganda government programs in sectors like education, economic development, and health among others. OIC, besides being the proprietor of Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), also offers Masters and Ph.D. Scholarships to Ugandans irrespective of their religious or faith affiliation.
